Snapshot
Ad Competition Index
82.3/ 100
Rank 73 of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and 27 of the 400 markets we cover. Higher means more local businesses competing for the same searches. How we calculate it
We rate every U.S. county-equivalent with 20,000 or more residents on how many ad-heavy local businesses (such as lawyers, dentists, contractors, agents and similar) compete for its residents. Broward County scores 82.3, which is among the most crowded markets in the country.
Two things stand out: Broward County is a county with unusually many ad-heavy local businesses for its size, and it is also a county with an unusually high share of bigger (20+ employee) businesses in ad-heavy categories. Eight measures below show where it stands among all counties.
Each bar places Broward County among all 1,822 U.S. counties with 20,000 or more residents. Data from: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates, County Business Patterns (2017 and 2022), Census income estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
What shapes the market
Count the competitors and Broward County stands out: 67.7 employer locations per 10,000 residents in the twelve ad-heavy categories we track, more than 97% of counties, or 13,286 locations in all. With that many businesses, the searches that matter most are crowded, and the campaigns that last are the specific ones.
Broward County has 1,962,531 residents, which ranks 17th of 3,143 U.S. counties, with population change of +0.9% since the 2020 Census.
No single place dominates Broward County: the largest, Fort Lauderdale, holds about 9% of residents. Larger places include Fort Lauderdale (184,255), Pembroke Pines (171,119), Hollywood (153,859), Miramar (138,319) and Coral Springs (134,906). Each one of them is its own market, so we build the campaign around the places you serve.

| Fort Lauderdale | 184,255 | 9% |
| Pembroke Pines | 171,119 | 9% |
| Hollywood | 153,859 | 8% |
| Miramar | 138,319 | 7% |
| Coral Springs | 134,906 | 7% |
| Pompano Beach | 113,619 | 6% |

Who you are bidding against
This table compares Broward County with the typical U.S. county, category by category: locations per 10,000 residents, how that has changed, and how many locations are larger operations.
Crowding = employer locations per 10,000 residents divided by the median U.S. county of 20,000+ residents (1.0x is typical; the dark tick marks it). Counts are establishments from County Business Patterns (2017, 2022), not active advertisers. See the method
In Broward County, the law offices category is the most crowded, with 2,517 locations at 4.5 times the typical density; the count is up 4.1% since 2017. Real estate agents and brokers (2,025 locations, 4.2x) and accounting and CPA firms (714 locations, 3.0x) also sit above a normal county.
Residential remodelers grew fastest, up 49.4% since 2017 to 862 locations. Physicians offices went the other way, down 5.4% to 1,859 locations. The biggest operators sit in roofing contractors: 31 of 199 locations have 20 or more employees.
One caution: this shows how many local businesses exist, not what a click costs. Auctions set click prices, and they also depend on your keywords, ads, landing page and the exact search, so crowding is a reason to plan carefully, not a quote.
Markets like this one
We picked the six markets, out of 400, that are most like Broward County on size, income, growth, construction and ad competition.
| County | Score | Population | Population change since 2020 | Ad-business change since 2017 | Permits per 10k, 2025 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Broward County, FL (you are here) | 82.3 | 1,962,531 | +0.9% | +10.4% | 14.3 |

| Baltimore County, MD | 71 | 844,703 | -1.2% | -3.7% | 18.1 |
| DuPage County, IL | 87.9 | 921,213 | -1.3% | +1.5% | 13.1 |
Look-alikes are the six counties in our 400-market set closest to this one on size, income, growth, construction and ad-business density. Sources are listed above.
St. Louis County, MO is the closest match, scoring 72 against Broward County's 82.3. Hennepin County, MN is the furthest from it, scoring 66.2. Baltimore County, MD's ad-heavy business base changed −3.7% over the period against +10.4% in Broward County. If you already run ads in one of these markets, the comparison shows how alike the competition is, not what your results will be.
New construction
New homes authorized by building permits. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Building Permits Survey (county annual files; year-to-date comparison covers the same months in each year). Permits are authorizations, not completed homes.
Broward County authorized 4,069 housing units in 2021 and 2,809 in 2025, about 31% fewer; 2025 still works out to 14.3 units per 10,000 residents, less than in 73% of counties. Permits for January through August total 1,788, versus 1,979 in the same months last year (−9.7%).
In Broward County, the construction-linked categories already busiest are real estate agents and brokers (4.2x typical) and insurance agencies and brokerages (1.9x typical). Each new household needs contractors, insurers, agents and providers, so construction-linked categories feel any swing in permits first. If you work in that space, a turn in permits is a reason to review your budget before the busy stretch, not after.

Different words, same service
People say Google Ads, PPC, paid ads, Facebook ads or Instagram ads; all of them mean paying per click, and we manage that for Broward County businesses on one flat plan.
Intent is highest on Google, so most Broward County businesses begin there and add Facebook, Instagram or Bing when the first campaign is running well. One account manager covers every platform.
What happens, in order
We assemble your campaign starting with the basics done right: landing pages, keywords, ads, extensions and conversion tracking for calls and forms.
With the campaign live, we check in and adjust frequently, cutting wasted clicks with negative keywords, reworking bids and steering toward better leads.
We back the ad groups that are producing and try broader keywords to grow your calls compared to before.
We keep refining the account and reduce your monthly management fee as your account grows, which improves your return.
What it costs
A flat management fee, no long-term contracts, scaled to the number of platforms we manage. Your ad budget is separate and is paid directly to the platform. Planning a budget above $10K a month? Let's talk.
Questions we hear
The management fee is flat, $895 for one platform, $1,595 for two and $2,295 for three, and it does not change with the size of your ad budget. You pay ad spend to the platform, and you can cancel anytime.
Work from your own figures instead of a rule of thumb: the calculator above converts your profit per customer and close rate into the most you can pay per lead. In Broward County, law offices (4.5x) and real estate agents and brokers (4.2x) are denser than a typical county, so if you are in one of those categories plan for a busier auction. Before launch we size the budget with you, then scale as results arrive.
More than most. Broward County scores 82.3 on our Ad Competition Index, ranking 73rd of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and 27th of the 400 markets we cover. Law offices, at 4.5 times the typical county. Crowding does not rule ads out; targeting and landing pages simply matter more.
Across the twelve ad-heavy categories we track, the largest by employer locations in Broward County are law offices (2,517), real estate agents and brokers (2,025) and physicians offices (1,859). Measured against a typical county, the most crowded are law offices (4.5x) and real estate agents and brokers (4.2x). A large or crowded category does not settle whether ads will work for you; it tells you how many other businesses may be bidding on the same searches.
It varies. Some accounts get calls the first day; others need two to four weeks of tuning, and more in crowded categories like law offices. Early on we review which searches triggered your ads and exclude the ones that do not fit your business.
Broward County has 1,962,531 residents, +0.9% since the 2020 Census, and 2,809 housing units were permitted in 2025 (14.3 per 10,000 residents). With the population close to flat, most new customers are people who already have a provider and have to be given a reason to switch. In both cases, ads reach whoever is searching right now, so we keep an eye on these trends when we set budgets.
Yes. We can target by city (Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar and others), by ZIP code or by a radius around your location.
Yes. Beyond Google Ads, we manage Bing ads and Meta ads, which run on Facebook and Instagram. Most clients start with Google since searchers there are ready to act; Bing adds a second search audience, and Facebook and Instagram reach people before they search. Pricing follows the platform count: $895, $1,595 or $2,295 a month.
You can cancel anytime, because there is no contract. You work with one dedicated account manager and get monthly reporting on the calls, forms and sales your campaign produces.
