The market in numbers
Ad Competition Index
87.6/ 100
Rank 29 of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and 8 of the 400 markets we cover. The higher the score, the more local businesses are competing for the same searches. How the index is built
We grade every U.S. county-equivalent with 20,000 or more residents on how many ad-heavy local businesses (lawyers, dentists, contractors, agents and similar) compete for its residents. Bucks County scores 87.6, which is among the most crowded markets in the country.
Two features set Bucks County apart from the pack: it is a county where many residents live outside any city or town, and it is a high-income county. The eight measures below show how it compares with every other county.
Every bar compares Bucks County alongside all 1,822 U.S. counties with 20,000 or more residents. Source data: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates, County Business Patterns (2017 and 2022), Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates and the Building Permits Survey.
What stands out
A large part of Bucks County lives outside any city or town: 562,223 residents, 87% of the total, a higher share than 95% of counties. City-name targeting misses them, which is why we set campaigns up by ZIP code and radius around where you actually work.
Bucks County has 645,984 residents, which ranks 110th of 3,143 U.S. counties; its population has moved −0.1% since the 2020 Census.
The biggest places in Bucks County are Bristol (9,876), Morrisville (9,705), Perkasie (9,277), Quakertown (9,247) and Doylestown (8,338). We can aim by city, by ZIP code or by a radius around your location, so clicks stay on the side of the county you actually serve.
Who else is in the auction
We divide each category's employer locations by population, then compare the result with the median county. A 2.0x reading means double the locations per resident of a typical county.
Crowding is employer locations per 10,000 residents relative to the median U.S. county of 20,000+ residents (1.0x is typical; the dark tick marks it). Counts are establishments from County Business Patterns (2017, 2022), which is not the same as active advertisers. See the method
In Bucks County, the residential remodelers category is the most crowded, with 608 locations at 3.1 times the typical density; the count is up 14.1% since 2017. Roofing contractors (93 locations, 2.5x) and landscaping services (508 locations, 2.4x) also sit above a normal county.
Real estate agents and brokers grew fastest, up 43.2% since 2017 to 265 locations. Physicians offices went the other way, down 23.6% to 339 locations. The biggest operators sit in physicians offices: 66 of 339 locations have 20 or more employees.
These are business counts, not ad costs. An auction decides what a click costs, and it weighs far more than the number of competitors, which is why we build around your keywords, offer and landing page rather than the headcount alone.
Demand signal
New housing units authorized by building permits. Data: U.S. Census Bureau Building Permits Survey (annual files by county, plus a year-to-date comparison of identical months). Permits count homes approved to be built, not homes completed.
Bucks County authorized 984 housing units in 2021 and 691 in 2025, about 30% fewer; 2025 still works out to 10.7 units per 10,000 residents, less than in 80% of counties. For January through August, permits are running at 512 against 440 a year earlier (+16.4%).
In Bucks County, the construction-linked categories already busiest are residential remodelers (3.1x typical) and roofing contractors (2.5x typical). For businesses that serve new households, permits are an early warning: search demand usually follows a turn in permits, and your budget and ad schedule should follow it.

The six look-alikes are the counties in our 400-market set that sit closest to this one on size, income, growth, construction and ad-business density. Same sources as above.
Montgomery County, PA is the closest match, scoring 82.7 against Bucks County's 87.6. Plymouth County, MA is the furthest from it, scoring 70.9. Rockland County, NY's ad-heavy business base changed +8.6% over the period against +4.1% in Bucks County. If you already advertise in one of these markets, the comparison tells you how similar the competitive field is, not what your results will be.

Run your own numbers
Break-even is different for each business. Type in what a new customer is worth to you and how many leads become customers, and you will see the highest cost per lead you can afford, how many customers pay for your month, and how your expected cost per lead stacks up.
What happens, in order
We set up your campaign on a solid foundation: pages built to turn clicks into calls, keywords, ads, extensions and call and form tracking.
Once ads are running, we review the account on a steady schedule, filtering out irrelevant searches with negative keywords, reworking bids and steering toward better leads.
We focus on the high-performing ad groups and try wider keywords to bring in more calls than before.
Optimization continues, and we reduce your monthly management fee as your account grows, so your return keeps rising.

Different words, same service
Whether you call it Google Ads, PPC, pay-per-click, Facebook ads, Instagram ads or paid ads, it means the same thing: you pay when someone clicks, and we manage the campaign for Bucks County businesses on one flat plan.
Start with the platform your customers use most. Many Bucks County businesses begin with Google Ads and later add Facebook and Instagram to stay in front of people who have not searched yet. We manage Google, Bing and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) together under one account manager.

Questions
Our management fee is flat: $895 a month for one platform, $1,595 for two and $2,295 for three, with no long-term contract. You pay your ad spend directly to the platform, apart from our fee.
Start from your own economics rather than a rule of thumb: the calculator above takes your profit per new customer and close rate and returns the most you can pay per lead. In Bucks County, residential remodelers (3.1x) and roofing contractors (2.5x) are denser than a typical county, so if you are in one of those categories plan for a busier auction. We size the budget with you before launch and scale as results come in.
More than most. Bucks County scores 87.6 on our Ad Competition Index, ranking 29th of 1,822 counties with 20,000+ residents and 8th of the 400 markets we cover. Residential remodelers is the densest category here, at 3.1 times the typical county. Crowding does not rule ads out; it makes targeting and landing pages matter more.
Across the twelve ad-heavy categories we track, the largest by employer locations in Bucks County are residential remodelers (608), landscaping services (508) and dentists (400). Measured against a typical county, the most crowded are residential remodelers (3.1x) and roofing contractors (2.5x). A big or crowded category does not decide whether ads work for you; it tells you how many other businesses may be bidding on the same searches.
There is no single answer. Some accounts hear the phone ring on day one, and others need two to four weeks of tuning, and more in crowded categories like residential remodelers. We check the searches that triggered your ads early and exclude those that do not suit your business.
Bucks County has 645,984 residents, −0.1% since the 2020 Census, and 691 housing units were permitted in 2025 (10.7 per 10,000 residents). With little population change, new customers are mostly people who already have a provider and must be given a reason to switch. Either way, ads reach the people searching now, which is why we watch these trends when we set budgets.
Yes. We can target by city (Bristol, Morrisville, Perkasie, Quakertown and others), by ZIP code or by a radius around your location. Around 87% of residents live outside any incorporated place, which is where radius targeting helps.
Yes. In addition to Google Ads, we handle Bing ads and Meta ads, which run on Facebook and Instagram. Google tends to be the first platform because searchers are ready to act; Bing adds a second search audience, and Facebook and Instagram reach people before they search. The fee depends on how many platforms you run: $895, $1,595 or $2,295 a month.
No contract, and you can cancel anytime. A dedicated account manager handles your campaign and sends monthly reports on the calls, forms and sales.
